Norton College Tewkesbury applied to take part in the Green Schools Award organised by the Woodland Trust and we were sent 5 different types of trees to plant on-site.

We’ve been sent Hawthorn, Dog Rose, Crab Apple, Dog Wood and Hazel. They made these fact sheets based on each tree we received.

As a team, students then worked to build a potting table in our Woodwork workshop so that it could be used for our saplings. Here is how it turned out:

Students have been potting our trees (using pots we bought from the brand new Dobbies Garden Centre close by) and taking good care of them so that we can eventually plant them in our outdoor space.

Top soil is being kindly donated by Silver Tree Services in Shurdington, Cheltenham!

We will check in again later in the year to bring you an update!
