Enhancing Teaching & Learning Through High-Quality Marking and Feedback
As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering an exceptional Quality of Education for every student at Norton College Worcester, staff recently took part in professional development led by our Deputy Headteacher and Quality of Education Lead.
The focus of this CPD session was Marking and Feedback, a core element of effective teaching and learning. Staff explored new and enhanced approaches designed to strengthen consistency across the school and ensure that feedback has a meaningful impact on pupil progress.
Throughout the session, teachers engaged with updated strategies to:
- Provide clear, purposeful feedback that moves learning forward
- Involve pupils more actively in reflecting on their work
- Support learners to understand their next steps
- Create a consistent, whole-school approach that promotes high expectations
By refining our marking and feedback practices, we aim to further empower students to take ownership of their educational journey. This ongoing professional development ensures that teaching at Norton College Worceser continues to evolve, adapt, and meet the needs of every learner.
