Achieving independence at Norton College Worcester

Norton College Worcester prides itself in developing resilience, self-confidence, life-skills and independence for all our students.

We were delighted to receive a letter this week from a student who has recently left NCW and I am proud to share his message about his time at the college which led to this destination.

‘I want to say thank you for all the support Norton gave me with my music interests. Not only as you know I’ve been on Spotify and iTunes and fascinated over 3 Million people worldwide with my music, but on the 2nd of October my song I released on May 2nd was played live on BBC Hereford and Worcester. At around 8pm.

Also, I’d like to mention I’m still in contact with my mentor and we’ve met a few times to record mixes and content with my music.

And a little update since leaving Norton, I have really been focusing on getting my nerves ready for my driving test, I got my own car and since getting it I think I’m ready to pass with my test being the end of this month. I’m really excited to see the freedom this can give me!

Thank you for everything yourself and everyone at Norton did for me I’m forever grateful. Hope you are well and would love to hear back.’

Other success stories from Norton College Worcester this week are:

A Year 12 student has gained a place on a Scaffolding apprenticeship this week whilst another has been accepted at college to begin a Uniformed Public Services course.

For another student NCW funded a Fork-lift truck driving qualification and he has now secured a good job in this field.

We are very proud of our students’ achievements and the vast range of skills they have developed at NCW to enable them to go on to such a broad variety of destinations.

We wish them all the very best!
