Careers Development at Norton College Worcester

This week, our staff deepened their understanding of Gatsby Benchmark 4: Linking Curriculum Learning to Careers. Strengthening our approach in this area reinforces Norton College Worcester’s belief that high‑quality careers guidance is a vital part of every student’s educational journey.

As part of this ongoing work, we have introduced a new “Job of the Week” initiative. This provides staff with structured opportunities to discuss the skills, qualities and qualifications associated with a range of careers. It also helps students recognise the transferable skills shared across different roles and career families.

Staff described the training as current, informative and highly valuable, enabling them to further develop their confidence in having meaningful career‑focused conversations. This supports our commitment to preparing all students for adulthood and life beyond school.
