Student Stories – Meet JB

JB came to Norton in November, he was shy and reserved and had been through a difficult time in his previous school. As time passed, Norton College staff were able to develop relationships with JB and he began to trust them.

He has been a fan of Pokémon Go amongst other things and after receiving a donation of 3000 Pokémon cards, JB decided he wanted to create a room that fans of Pokémon would enjoy.

Working with Anna our newly appointed Assistant Headteacher, JB came up with his design using Paint.net. For a week he worked solidly in painting.

The self-esteem JB has gained from completing his project has been phenomenal; instantly gaining kudos from staff; visitors and his peers.

As JB said himself, ‘Art doesn’t just touch hearts, it can change people’s perception of who you are.’

We are all very proud of him.
