Removing barriers to learning

Our mission at Norton College is to provide educational, social and vocational skills to the most challenged and challenging young people. Our aim is to help with overcoming barriers to learning and we’re always proud of our students’ achievements and College exam results. We offer an alternative approach to education that is focused solely on outcomes for young people, built on the philosophy of kindness and warmth linked with compassion, and we’re committed to integrating students positively into society.

At Norton College, students are able to gain Functional Skills qualifications, GCSE qualifications plus an Open College Network certification. The College has also introduced in house certification for students who are working towards achieving Functional Skills.

Celebrating Achievements

Striving to achieve a high standard academic outcomes is important to us and we believe in celebrating students’ achievements with parents or carers and peers. This not only enables students to feel positive about their learning, but it also encourages them to build on their successes.

We’ve also created a ‘Proud Board’ at Norton College, where we post our students’ achievements for everyone to see and celebrate together.
