Nervous Beginnings
TF came to Norton College at the beginning of October 2019. He had finished year 11, but was too anxious to go to Mainstream College. When he first came for a visit he was very anxious and nervous but both pupils and staff made him feel welcome and TF was keen to attend.
Overcoming Barriers
In a short space of time he made some positive relationships with staff and pupils and was able to articulate his thoughts and feelings with the Headteacher, something he had never been able to do. TF currently goes to the farm 2 days a week and has really enjoyed attending, his confidence has increased as he has led the horses, something he has talked about but has been anxious in doing.
When speaking to his mum she told us that TF is…:
“Like a different child, college is amazing, the support in the first few days was overwhelming”
